Solid Waste, Recycling And Bulk Pickup Info
June 6, 2023 all garbage must be in the village 96 gal tote to be picked up by Waste Management. No garbage will be picked up with a sticker or in any other container than the village tote. Large items need to be scheduled for pickup through Waste Management starting June 1, 2023 and are limited to three per unit per month per eligible household and are picked up on the first garbage day of the month. If you don't have our garbage tote then you are not eligible for large item pick up. Phone # for the large item pickup is 1-800-972-4545. At the Door program is still in effect for pickup of electronics and household hazardous waste for eligible residents (ones with garbage totes). Phone # for the At Your Door Program is 1-800-449-7587.
Resolution:
To allow tax-exempt properties in the Village to partake in the weekly garbage pickup, the entity would be required to pay a one-time fee for the purchase of the tote, with a maximum of two (2) totes per site. They would also be required to pay the year in advance for the pickup service fee as calculated by the Village Office based on that year's contract agreement.
The entity will be notified 30 days in advance for the upcoming renewal with the new rate calculated by the Village Office. The entity must either respond in writing if they wish to discontinue service or submit payment for the service to continue for the following year. There will be no refund for cancelling the service mid-year.
Resolution: Residential garbage totes. Toes may only be purchased if a building/home has a certificate of occupancy. Totes will not go to any vacant properties. Garbage totes are only for residential use, with the exception of a few businesses in the East Main Street Historic District that do not have room for a dumpster.
